Mont-Blanc Tunnel: Closed for 30+ hours from Wed 14 Jun at 23:30hrs local time

The work is one part of the major project being carried to the whole infrastructure of the 11.6 kilometre tunnel under the Mont-Blanc massif.

A 30-hour operation, which is longer than the usual, is planned to include 2 nights to minimize the inconvenience the travelling public and trucking companies.

In recent weeks, other work has included re-surfacing of the road and new signage, but only within the sections of the tunnel that are undergoing planned maintenance.

Motorists wishing to travel to Italy via the road linking Chamonix to Courmayeur will have to wait until Friday.
